Allagash River
   

      The Allagash  experience can vary from a 10 day trip down to a day trip depending on which put-in and take-out points you decide to use,  refer to the chart below for access points.  The Waterway from Telos Lake to Allagash village is 92 miles.

Allagash falls

     The water on the river is mostly Class I with a stretch of Class II from Churchill Dam down to Umsaskis Lake.  
      900 cubic feet per second and above are considered ideal  paddling conditions but we have had parties come thru during parts of last summer when the flow was as low as 350 cfs and they didn’t seem to be complaining.  To check water levels,  Click here
