Yes indeed.
The oringinal fort built in 1839 in response to an anticipated border dispute is alive and well and located in downtown Fort Kent. During the summer months, the fort or blockhouse as it is known locally is manned by Boy Scouts who offer guided tours.

For those of you who are into snowmobiling and skiing, take a look at the photos of our New Year’s 2006 storm. Just the usual run of the mill 40 inch snowstorm. The snow had drifted to over 8 feet deep on the roof.

Fort Kent used to have a canoe race on the Fish River which ran for a number of years. Unfortunately it was discontinued in1996. Well the CanAm Crown is over for this year, a bit less than ‘optimal’ conditions but mushers and teams pulled through.
